JULY 9, 2011 FINE ART EXHIBITION AND SALE / GARDEN TOUR
ART EXHIBITION & GARDEN TOUR
Saturday July 9, 2011, 10 AM until 4 PM
RAIN OR SHINE, Acworth, NH
The Acworth Community Charitable Trust is pleased to announce its annual fundraising event for 2011. This year’s event will feature a Town Hall exhibition and sale of fine works of art by 13 local and regional artists, including a number who are award-winning and nationally known. The tour will cover several notable gardens, including the gardens and arboretum of landscape designer Kristian Fenderson and Alston Barrett and the first-ever showing of the Martinet-Dimoglou gardens, featuring a stunning water feature by British designer Mark Laurence. There will also be a plant sale with offerings from some of the area’s finest growers. A boxed luncheon will be available for purchase at the South Acworth Village Store.
The exhibition and tour last summer was such a success that the Trust was able to increase its grant awards from $5000 in 2010 to $9000 this spring. These are monies that have gone back into the community to support renovations at the Silsby Library and the Historical Society’s Turn-Around-Barn, purchase a new portable pump for the Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company, and underwrite another year of the Cold Pond Community Land Trust’s Garden Meals Program at the elementary school.
Advanced tickets $15 each. Day of event, $20. Children free.
Tickets include a map and a roster of exhibitors.
The boxed lunch ($10) may be reserved if paid for in advance through the Trust by July 5. On the day of the event they will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 10 AM at the South Acworth Village Store.
Tickets and luncheon reservations are available from the Trust at PO Box 10, Acworth, NH 03601. Tickets will go on sale by July 1 at the South Acworth Village Store.
